About Kimchiharu

May 17th, 2009 was the date when we first opened Kimchiharu’s first branch at Jaya One, Petaling Jaya with 27 dishes, including the Bibimbap and Kimchi Jigae. In the beginning, we started out as a family business. Therefore, we set our vision to eat healthy everyday for us to keep our business running everyday as perfect as it could be.


Why the motto “NO MSG”

Why we reject MSG, a food enhancer substance in our food? At first, we started out as a family business. So in order for for the whole family to be energetic for the business to run perfectly, we made sure the whole family had healthy meals everyday. However, as we maintained the tradition, we also made a new vision that is to encourage our customers to stay healthy by serving them food that we freshly prepare daily. The message “NO MSG” is to convey to the public that we only serve healthy food from freshly marinated meat to nourishing vegetables to create the most healthy and wholesome meal for everybody!

Madam Gye, our head chef and managing director, strongly rejected the use of the MSG or artificial seasoning to be included in dishes, whereby it’s not only unhealthy, but it also affect the flavour of the particular dish by replacing the natural taste of the ingredients. Therefore, after many trials and berrors, Madam Gye successfully produced Kimchiharu’s authentic and traditional vegetable broth. The vegetable broth consists of 12 types of vegetables and fruits, and guaranteed prepared without the use of MSG or other artificial seasoning. This vegetable broth is included while preparing all the ingredients and main dishes including the Kimchi Jigae, Beef Bulgoki and also Karae sauce.
