About Marché
The idea for Marché Restaurant blossomed in 1983, its inception being the brainchild of the Mövenpick company, a Swiss corporation known for its grasp in the hospitality industry. Espousing a philosophy of serving fresh produce, and the creation of dishes through “front cooking” - where chefs prepare meals in open kitchens - the inspired dining concept soon spread to eleven countries within Europe, America, and Asia.
At its Curve branch, Marché lives up to its name - which means ‘market’ in French - emulating the hubbub of a European marketplace; terracotta tiles in shades of caramel and cream, smooth cobblestone floors, and vibrant striped awnings convey a rustic charm surprisingly reminiscent of bustling modern agoras.
Customers navigate stations with a ‘market passport’ which details their choice of treats, making their decisions at food stalls groaning under the weight of freshly baked bread, crisp salads, and sugary desserts, while dishes like pasta are rustled up in front of their eyes. Opulent repasts are enjoyed in any of the three authentically decorated seating areas - La Poterie, the Bistro, or the Swiss House - as emptying plates can be replenished by a repeat trip to the stalls. At the pinnacle of satiation, the passport is exchanged for a bill, following which, patrons may saunter past the ubiquitous Marché cow for a stroll around the shopping centre.
