About Robata Monkey
A member of the brand’s dining triad at Jaya One shopping mall, the pork-free establishment joins the likes of Kissaten and Lammeeya into the group of restaurants that come under the tutelage of their Head Chef Chung. Luring its patrons with a rarely-observed grilling method that uses binchotan oak charcoal that is almost smoke-free, the Palm Square restaurant positions its open hearths around their patron’s dining space for both live cooking performances and a rustic village aesthetic. Filling the grill with seafood flown directly from Japan, the robatayaki-style diner complements the array of saba fish, salmon, Hokkaido hokke fish and snow crabs specialties with its list of chilled beers, sake, wine, and cocktails.
Robata Monkey Reviews
Robata Monkey has been featured in The Edge, TimeOut KL, and Eat Drink KL.
Coupled with its wide array of local & imported Japanese fresh seafood, juicy meats & seasonal vegetables grilled; Robata Monkey is definitely a heaven for seafood lovers. Upon stepping into Robata Monkey, we immediately enjoy the ambiance of the traditional Japanese setting with its rustic wood interior, high ceiling and the casual atmosphere. It feels like we were being transported to a neighborhood restaurant in a small town in Japan. – Oct 22, 2014

I’m usually not a fan of raw meat but I loved how the slices of Salmon just melts in my mouth. Combined with the softness of the avocado, eating this was effortless as hard chewing was not necessary – Nov 7, 2014
